LGBTQ Career Expo – Let’s Get Hired!

Looking for degrees, jobs, and internships is stressful—scary even—especially when we’re unsure whether a potential employer or education program will fully support and welcome allidentities. There are so many questions: Will it be safe to be out? What if I don’t go by my legal name? Will I be the only LGBTQ person in the office? The LGBTQ Career Expo is a safe space for high school and college students to meet with local employers and colleges/universities who have shown a commitment to creating supportive environments for LGBTQ people.

LGBTQ Career Expo – Let’s Get Hired!

Friday, April 12th 2019 | 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield (North entrance on High St)

1331 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309

Free with RSVP! Click this link to register.

Join us for an afternoon of networking with Iowa’s leading employers, colleges, and universities! Mini-workshops will be offered throughout the Expo, offering insights on interview do’s and don’ts, a panel of personal experiences on being out in the workplace, and so much more.

Be sure to bring a copy of your CV or resumé if you have one! If you don’t have one prepared, this is a great opportunity to write up a draft and bring it in for personalized feedback from supportive professionals. Let’s get hired!

**PLEASE NOTE: You will need an ID to enter the Wellmark building, but the name on your ID does not have to match the name you used to register for the event. Student ID’s are accepted.**
