Iowa Safe Schools is excited to present the 4th Annual Trans Summit! We know there are myriad questions educators and youth-serving professionals have when it comes to building positive and supportive learning environments for their students. The 4th Annual Trans Summit aims to provide a “brave space” for attendees to find answers to these questions through various workshop sessions, Q&A platforms, and panel discussions. Attendees can expect to hear from presenters about their own personal experience, receive guidance and best practices from legal and medical professionals, as well as engage with other leading experts in education to build a solid foundation for supporting transgender youth in their own school and youth-serving communities.

Iowa Safe Schools is here to support Iowa educators however we can, and right now that means bringing all of our programming opportunities to you virtually. We are so excited to be bringing you the incredible presenters we have lined-up for the 4th Annual Trans Summit in the comfort of your own home (or school)!
How will this work? The 4th Annual Trans Summit is taking place virtually on our event platform, Sched. While the summit is happening live, all presentations will be recorded as they happen, and archived right there on the website! This makes it easy to go back and watch sessions you couldn’t catch live, or ones you want to watch again! You’ll also have continuous access to PDF copies of all handouts and slide decks.
Can I still network? Yes! All attendees and speakers can create their own profiles and attach them to sessions that they are either attending or presenting. You can visit your fellow attendees’ profiles, so long as they aren’t set to private.
How do I Attend this summit for license renewal credit? When you register, be sure to select “License Renewal Credit” from the menu. Once you’ve had a chance to watch the presentations, you’ll need to submit a two-page/1,000 word reflection on your experience and what you learned. We’ll process the transcripts shortly after submission. All reflections are due by December 4, 2020.
