Having Iowa Safe Schools talk to my classes about Iowa's anti-bullying legislation has become an important component in my curriculum. Working with pre-service teachers, I can implore them to try to empathize regarding the obstacles and barriers to learning that students encounter. Iowa Safe Schools has concrete, statistical evidence that not all students feel safe and respected in their schools.
